PRE-IB Programme: Brief Description.

Ionios School offers to A’ Lyceum students an innovative programme of PREparation for the IB.
The IB Diploma Programme has a sophisticated educational philosophy and equips the students with contemporary knowledge, nurtures their personality, expands their spirit and, above all, teaches them to be responsible members of the society.
The PRE-IB introduces the students to this philosophy and prepares them for a smooth transition into the IB Diploma Programme.
The PRE-IB introduces the students to the following range of topics

• Physics, Chemistry & Biology in the Experimental Science Lab
• Experimental Psychology
• Philosophy
• World Cultures
• English & American Literature and Writing
• Introduction to the Arts | Music, Theatre, Visual

Students are taught terminology, critical thinking, scientific methods, experimental procedures and ways of writing academic assignments. The overall aim of the PRE-IB is to help students acquire some prerequisites for successful attendance in the IB Diploma Programme.
Courses are taught in English by the experienced IB Diploma Programme Teachers.
Students from Ionios School may participate in the PRE-IB Programme even if they are not planning to enrol in the IB Diploma Programme.
Classes are held on Monday and Thursday from 14:45 to 16:10.

Πρόγραμμα PRE-IB: Σύντομη περιγραφή

Η Ιόνιος Σχολή προσφέρει στους φοιτητές Α 'Λυκείου ένα πρωτοποριακό πρόγραμμα προετοιμασίας για το ΙΒ, PRE-IB.
Το IB Diploma Programme βασίζεται σε μια προηγμένη εκπαιδευτική φιλοσοφία που εξοπλίζει τους μαθητές με σύγχρονη γνώση, καλλιεργεί την προσωπικότητά τους, δευρύνει το πνεύμα τους και, πάνω απ’ όλα, τους διδάσκει να είναι υπεύθυνα μέλη της κοινωνίας.
Το PRE-IB εισάγει τους μαθητές σε αυτή τη φιλοσοφία και τους προετοιμάζει για μια ομαλή μετάβαση στο IB Diploma Programme.
Το PRE-IB εισάγει τους μαθητές σε ένα ευρύ φάσμα μαθημάτων:  

•    Φυσική, Χημεία & Βιολογία στο Πειραματικό Εργαστήριο
•    Πειραματική Ψυχολογία
•    Φιλοσοφία
•    Πολιτισμοί του Κόσμου
•    Αγγλική & Αμερικάνικη Λογοτεχνία και Γραφή
•    Εισαγωγή στις Τέχνες | Μουσική, Θέατρο, Εικαστικές

Οι μαθητές διδάσκονται ορολογία, κριτική σκέψη, επιστημονικές μεθόδους, πειραματικές διαδικασίες και τρόπους συγγραφής ακαδημαϊκών εργασιών. Ο γενικός στόχος του PRE-IB είναι να βοηθήσει τους μαθητές να αναπτύξουν ορισμένες από τις δεξιότητεςπου θα τους χρησιμεύσουν στην επιτυχή συμμετοχή τους στο IB Diploma Programme.
Τα μαθήματα γίνονται στα Αγγλικά, από τους έμπειρους καθηγητές του IB Diploma Programme.
Οι μαθητές της Ιονίου Σχολής μπορούν να συμμετάσχουν στο PRE-IB, ακόμη και αν δεν προγραμματίζουν να εγγραφούν στο IB Diploma Programme.
Τα μαθήματα γίνονται Δευτέρα και Πέμπτη από τις 14:45 έως τις 16:10.
